According to Nicole Phelps of style.com "the appeal of this brand has been how strongly tethered to reality it remains, how much it reflects what the cool girls want to look like on their best day" With their latest collection being full of Tailored pantsuits, cool blazers and calf length sheer dresses, although this collection had a lot more colour than usual they still managed to keep the cool, unbothered, statemented girl that rag and bone project.

Flats are back this spring. It may be a surprise for some to see models gliding down the runways of Lanvin, Balenciaga and Anna Sui without having to balance on 3 inch heels, however surprised or not,  this is a trend that I'm sure will be embraced by many fashion-conscious women who will now be saved from wearing those treacherous heels.

Model of the Moment

Fashion has never been just about the clothes but about the people too. Freja Beha Erichsen is one of these people. She has only come into the fashion world recently but we are seeing her face EVERYWHERE. The Danish model has acquired a reputation for her original yet easy style, which mostly involves dark simple colours including her 16 tattoos have become part of this style instead of just body art.

The Edge of Preppy

Although I'm not a big fan of colours this seasons bright colours and bold prints means that it is the perfect time to play preppy with oversized jackets, shirts, brogues and satchels.

Versions of Lani

John Galliano's RTW spring collection at  le grand Opéra Comique realy inspired me. The show was more like a theatre show than a fashion show. As the models strode down the runway in much more than just a Galliano outfit. Each look was meant to portray a version of a portrait of Maria Lani, an actress from 1920's Paris who ended up with 50 works of art which were all portraits of herself.

The collection was full of intricate beads and delicate organza that contradicted the laced-edged leather. Galliano kept a sense of sophisticated beauty while incorporating this seasons bright colours.
